Pet food makers: OEM and private-label manufacturing

GoldHot manufactures in Dongguan, Guangdong, for importers, distributors and private-label brands. Define the exact product, destination, order volume and customization before selecting a program. Existing-platform branding, engineering changes and new development require different approvals and budgets. For a pet-food appliance, define capacity, controls and cleaning requirements separately from recipe formulation. A cooker does not make a diet nutritionally complete; customer nutrition guidance needs qualified review.

Quick answer

Choose an existing model for a defined branding project, request engineering review for functional or tooling changes, or submit a new-product brief for development. MOQ, sample charges, tooling, documentation and schedule are confirmed for the exact configuration in the quotation.

Three manufacturing programs

Choose the scope according to the changes required, the evidence needed and the development budget.

Program 01

Existing-platform branding

Start with a selected production model. Agree logo, packaging and any approved appearance options, then evaluate a representative sample before authorizing the run.

You provide
  • Target market, quantity and intended users
  • Brand files, specifications and acceptance criteria
  • Required changes, launch window and document needs
We confirm
  • Feasibility and exact model configuration
  • Sample plan, quotation and production requirements
  • Relevant report scope and agreed quality checks
Program 02

Custom engineering and tooling

Decision guide

Which program fits your project?

Match the level of change to a defined sample and approval plan.

Option 01
If Start with a selected production model. Agree logo, packaging and any approved appearance options, then evaluate a representative sample before authorizing the run.
→ Existing-platform branding
Option 02
If Submit the required changes to housing, controls or functionality. Engineering review establishes feasibility, tooling, pilot testing and any effect on document coverage.
→ Custom engineering and tooling
Option 03
If Provide the user need, target specification and commercial brief. Development, prototypes, verification, tooling and production are separate milestones with agreed responsibilities.
→ New-product development

From brief to production

Agree the deliverables at each stage before moving to the next.

01

Brief

Define the use case, destination, volume, branding and changes. Identify the decision-maker and sample acceptance criteria.

02

Configuration and documents

Confirm the exact model, electrical specification, materials and available report scope. Agree any further verification needed.

03

Sample and quotation

Review sample charges, test plan, commercial terms and schedule. Record the selected configuration in writing.

04

Engineering and pilot

Where changes require development, agree tooling, prototype and pilot milestones before starting. Review changes against the approved specification.

05

Production approval

Approve the reference sample, artwork and production specification. Confirm the production schedule and payment milestones in the agreement.

06

Inspection and shipment

Complete agreed quality checks and packing review. Confirm shipping terms, documents and logistics with the responsible parties.

OEM questions buyers ask

For more background, read the OEM and ODM sourcing guide.

What is the production MOQ?

Minimums vary by model, color and configuration. The existing model's published terms provide a starting point; the quotation confirms the scope of an OEM order.

Are existing reports valid for a customized model?

Check each report's model list and tested configuration. Changes in materials, electrical parts or design can require further review or testing; coverage is not automatically transferable.

Who owns new tooling and design files?

Agree ownership, maintenance, use rights, confidentiality and any exclusivity in writing before development. The words OEM or ODM alone do not establish these rights.

What determines the delivery schedule?

The schedule depends on sample approval, component availability, engineering, tooling, tests and production capacity. Confirm milestones in the quotation and separate manufacturing from transport time.
